Updates on former Braves still playing around the majors:

Brian McCann, C

New York Yankees

McCann hit .214 in the past week and is batting .223 this season with six homers and 18 RBIs. One New York Post story called McCann “awful” this season.

Tim Hudson, P

San Francisco Giants

Hudson (4-2, 2.13 ERA) had a strange week. He missed a start because of a strained left hip, then only went three innings in his next start because of a long rain delay.

Martin Prado, 3B

Arizona Diamondbacks

Prado experienced blurry vision in his left eye and doctors said the cause was an allergic reaction. He is hitting .251 and still doesn’t have a homer.

Mark Teixeira, 1B

New York Yankees

He still produces as consistently as anyone in baseball when in the lineup, with nine homers and 25 RBIs in 32 games this season. Teixeira is hitting .263.

Adam LaRoche, 1B

Washington Nationals

He’s been on the DL (quadriceps strain) but planned to play rehab games in the minors Friday and Saturday and hoped to return to the Nationals’ lineup Sunday.

Omar Infante, 2B

Kansas City Royals

Infante, who is third on the team in RBIs (19) despite being on the 15-day DL since May 7 because of back discomfort, could return this weekend.

Juan Francisco, 3B/1B

Toronto Blue Jays

He has eight homers and 19 RBIs in just 27 games. Francisco is hitting .286 but also has struck out 36 times in 91 at-bats and still usually sits against lefties.

Kelly Johnson, INF

New York Yankees

Johnson was 1-for-13 in the past week, a horrendous .077 average, and he’s hitting just .202 this season, with four homers and 12 RBIs

Tyler Flowers, C

Chicago White Sox

One of the players the Braves traded for pitcher Javier Vazquez in 2008 is hitting .306 through 42 games. The Roswell native has three homers and 15 RBIs.
