Henrik Stenson

34-34-68

Stenson retained his lead at the Tour Championship despite two bogeys on the round. He finished with birdies at No. 2, 4, 7 and 12. The only blemishes were bogeys on Nos. 5 and 8. “I didn’t feel like it was my best day out there today, but I still managed to keep it together, and a 2 under par around here is never a bad thing.” Stenson’s 2 under was second best on the day, tied with Justin Rose, and two shots behind Jordan Spieth. Stenson had a two-stroke lead after the first round and now a three-shot lead after the second.

Zach Johnson

35-35-70

Johnson had an up-and-down round, if there ever was one. Still he survived for an even-par round. Johnson double-bogeyed No. 9, and bogeyed Nos. 10, 11 and 13. That’s 5 over par in five holes. Johnson helped his cause by birding three of the last four holes, including Nos. 17 and 18. “My round, in particular, was roller coaster,” Johnson said. “I played great early, played poorly in the middle and played great at the end.”

Scott Piercy

40-33-73

Piercy went the entire front nine without recording a par. That’s seven bogeys and two birdies on his scorecard. He didn’t record a par until No. 10, when he two-putted from 44 feet. Piercy managed three birdies and a bogey on the back nine to end the round with only five pars. He ended his second round with a 3-over 73 and is 7 over par for the tournament.
