Following his sensational fumble recovery for a touchdown, Georgia Tech defensive end Jordan Domineck was named the ACC defensive lineman of the week. The honor was announced Monday.

Domineck played a leading role in the Yellow Jackets’ 45-17 win over Kennesaw State on Saturday at Bobby Dodd Stadium, starting with a forced fumble of Kennesaw State quarterback Xavier Shepherd that he scooped up and ran back 70 yards for a touchdown that gave the Jackets a 14-0 lead.

Against an overmatched FCS opponent thinned by injury, the Yellow Jackets took care of business Saturday, overwhelming Kennesaw State 45-17.

Altogether, Domineck recorded five tackles, including three for loss and a sack, and two forced fumbles in addition to the touchdown. He became the third FBS player to finish a game with a sack, three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and a fumble return for a touchdown since 2000, and the first since 2009.

It is the third time that Domineck has been named an ACC player of the week. He previously won it for his performances against N.C. State in 2019 and Duke in 2020.
