Georgia Tech quarterback Jeff Sims was recognized by the ACC for the second time this season, earning conference rookie of the week honors for his performance in the Yellow Jackets' 46-27 win over Louisville on Friday night at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Sims completed 11 of 21 passes for 249 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. It was the first game of his young career without any interceptions. He completed passes to six different targets as he led the Jackets to the win after falling behind 21-7. The 14-point margin tied for the second largest overcome in a win over an ACC opponent in Tech’s history.

Sims also led the team with 64 rushing yards on seven attempts with one touchdown. He has led the Jackets in rushing in three of their four games this season.

Pro Football Focus also acknowledged his superior play on Sunday, tweeting that his passer rating under pressure (143.8) was the highest among all power-conference quarterbacks.

Sims becomes the fourth Tech player to win ACC rookie of the week twice, joining Calvin Johnson (who won it four times in 2004), Dedrick Mills (2016) and Tobias Oliver (2018).
