Georgia Tech football received a verbal commitment from an in-state kicker Wednesday.

Landon Shaffer, a senior at East Paulding High School, posted to X, formerly Twitter, that he plans to join the Yellow Jackets for the 2025 season. Shaffer (5-foot-9, 150 pounds) previously committed to Rice and reportedly was offered a scholarship by Tech in December.

At East Paulding, Shaffer had 56 touchbacks on 60 kickoffs in 2024, made 38 of 39 extra-point attempts and 14 of 18 field-goal attempts with a long of 53. ProKicker.Com and Ray Guy Kicking Camp rate Shaffer as five-star kicker and four-star punter.

Shaffer joins running back Isaiah Groves (East Robertson, Tennessee) as players committed to Tech, but yet to sign for the 2025 season. Tech signed 23 players in December to the 2024 signing class, a class which ranks 22nd nationally and third among ACC teams.
