Georgia Tech has the fifth-toughest non-conference schedule this season, according to a ranking released Thursday by ESPN's Chris Low.

The Yellow Jackets non-conference schedule for 2018 consists of home games against Alcorn State (Sept. 1) and Bowling Green (Sept. 29) and road games at South Florida (Sept. 8) and Georgia (Nov. 24).

Georgia Tech, the fourth ACC team listed by Low, followed Pitt, USC, Florida State and Clemson in difficulty of non-conference schedule.

Low said the difficulty of the Yellow Jackets’ away games against South Florida and Georgia is what gives their non-conference schedule enough difficulty to place them behind the three other ACC teams.

“The Yellow Jackets play at South Florida the second week of the season, and even though the Bulls are losing star quarterback Quinton Flowers, Charlie Strong's club isn't lacking for talent. Georgia Tech closes the regular season against in-state rival Georgia, which played in the national championship game a year ago and enters the 2018 season ranked No. 4,” Low said.
