THREE STORYLINES

Will Georgia Tech keep it up? After three weeks of losses laden with turnovers and lack of focus, the Yellow Jackets turned it on full blast against Syracuse, raking the Orange 56-0 and playing their first penalty-free game since 1968. The same precision may not be necessary to win at Virginia, but it wouldn't hurt.

Can Jeremiah Attaochu celebrate homecoming? The Tech defensive end has played two of his best games close to his Washington, D.C., home – against Virginia Tech (10 tackles) and Maryland (three sacks, forced fumble, fumble recovery), both last year. He'll have about 20 family members and friends at Saturday's game, which also is Virginia's homecoming.

Who's toting the rock? B-back David Sims will start, but backup Zach Laskey outperformed Sims last week, with 75 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Coach Paul Johnson said he will play it by ear in distributing playing time. Last year, Laskey stunned the Cavaliers with a 70-yard touchdown reception on Tech's first play from scrimmage.

MATCHUP OF THE WEEK

Tech DE Attaochu vs. Virginia LT Morgan Moses. Undoubtedly, NFL scouts on hand will watch how these two draft prospects shake out when lined up against each other. More germane to Tech's efforts, Attaochu needs to stay in his gap to defend the run and rattle quarterback David Watford.
