THREE STORYLINES
Will Georgia State get improved play at quarterback? Ronnie Bell and Ben McLane had the worst games of the season in last week's loss at Louisiana-Monroe. Bell had two interceptions, and McLane threw another and lost a fumble … by halftime. The Panthers can't make those mistakes and expect to beat anybody.
Can Georgia State stop Western Kentucky's running game? The Hilltoppers average 194 rushing yards per game. The Panthers give up 227.9 rushing yards per game. The Panthers have yet to limit an opponent to less than 100 rushing yards.
Will anyone show up to have fun at WKU coach Bobby Petrino's expense? This will be Petrino's first trip back to the Georgia Dome as a coach since he walked out on the Falcons in 2007 to take the job at Arkansas. With everything that has happened to him since, and Halloween just two days ago, some fans might have some dress-up fun at his expense.
MATCHUPS TO WATCH
Georgia State LB Joseph Peterson and LB Robert Ferguson vs. Western Kentucky RB Antonio Andrews. If Georgia State is to slow the Hilltoppers and their running game, Peterson and Ferguson must bring down Andrews, or at least hold him up until other defenders can get there. Andrews is the FBS leader in all-purpose yards per game (237) and rushing yards (1,180).
