THREE STORYLINES
Both teams have something to play for. Their reasons are different, but Georgia State (0-11) and South Alabama need to win. This will be Panthers' last chance this season to earn their first victory. With two wins in its final two games, South Alabama (4-6) can become bowl-eligible.
Will the errors stop? The Panthers were in position to win their first game last week, holding a 17-7 lead at halftime after playing their best half this season. And then three mistakes — two lost fumbles and a blocked punt — in the third quarter were turned into 21 points by Arkansas State. The Red Wolves won 35-33.
Goodbye to the seniors. Twenty-six seniors will be honored before the game. The group is led by Albert Wilson, who holds numerous school records for receiving, returns and all-purpose yards.
MATCHUP TO WATCH
Georgia State QB Ronnie Bell vs. South Alabama QB Ross Metheny. This duo won't be trying to stop each other, but will try to best each other. Metheny has averaged 217.1 passing yards per game and has 14 thrown for touchdowns. He has completed 61.9 percent of his attempts. Bell has averaged 204.7 passing yards per game and has 15 touchdowns passes. However, he has completed only 50.1 percent of his attempts.
