Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm was named the SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week along with Mississippi State’s Nick Fitzgerald.
Fromm, who went 17-for-24 for 240 yards and three touchdowns Saturday, led the Bulldogs to a 36-17 win over No. 9 Florida in his latest performance. Georgia totaled 429 yards of offense against Florida.
Fromm played one of the best games of his career Saturday after recording his lowest passer rating (96.6) of his collegiate career two weeks prior in Georgia’s loss to LSU.
“(Fromm) wasn’t trying to impress anybody, he just came out and pieces just fell together. We worked really hard in... the bye week and we felt like we had to step up as an offense,” Georgia wide receiver Jeremiah Holloman said Monday. “So everyone on offense really gave a little extra effort and it just opened it up. A lot of people are just going to say what he did wrong, but the offense (didn’t) play as well as it should have against LSU and we stepped up this past week.”
Georgia faces Kentucky Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.
