The SEC Championship game between Georgia and Texas was the most-watched college football game of the 2024 season, ABC announced Tuesday. The game averaged 16.6 million viewers, with a peak of 19.7 million viewers, according to the network.

The game, won by Georgia 22-19 in overtime, was the third-most watched regular-season game across ESPN platforms on record.

The game was also the fourth-most watched SEC Championship game on record. It trailed only:

2023 (Alabama 27, Georgia 24)

2018 (Alabama 35, Georgia 28)

2009 (Alabama 32, Florida 13)

Across ABC’s slate of games, the Big 12 Championship averaged 6.9 million viewers and the ACC Championship averaged 6.0 million viewers, the network announced.
