ATHENS — Georgia has lost another underclassman to the NFL.

Trey Hill, a junior center from Warner Robins, announced via his social media accounts that he intends to enter April’s NFL Draft. The deadline for declarations usually is mid-January but has not been finalized yet for the 2021 draft.

“Playing in the NFL has been a lifelong goal and I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to follow my dreams,” Hill said via his Twitter account.

Hill started 26 games for the Bulldogs, including the first seven this season before electing to have arthroscopic surgery on both knees in December. He also graduated last month.

Sophomore Warren Ericson started the last two games at center. Freshman Sedrick Van Pran leads several other candidates to compete for the starting job next fall.

Hill becomes the third underclassman to declare for the draft so far. He joins cornerback Eric Stokes and outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari. Stokes opted out of the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, while Ojulari chose to play. Ojulari earned defensive MVP honors with three sacks, two fumbles and a safety in the Bulldogs’ 24-21 win over No. 8 Cincinnati.

Several other Georgia underclassmen also are considering the draft, including noseguard Jordan Davis and cornerback Tyson Campbell, both juniors. Georgia quarterback JT Daniels, a redshirt sophomore, indicated Monday that he intends to return.

The 6-foot-4, 330-pound Hill signed with Georgia in 2018 as a 4-star prospect out of Houston County, where he was teammates with former quarterback Jake Fromm. Hill played in all 14 games as a freshman, starting the last four at right guard. Hill moved to center last season and started all 14 games.
