St. Francis alum headed to Elite Eight
Roswell’s St. Francis School alum Kaiser Gates and Xavier are headed to the Elite Eight after an upset over Arizona on Thursday night.
In a 73-71 win over No. 2 Arizona, Gates — a sophomore forward for the Musketeers— played for 19 minutes against the Wildcats, scoring 3 points and securing 3 rebounds.
Gates faced another Georgia native and former teammate from St. Francis on Thursday in Arizona's freshman shooting guard Kobi Simmons. Simmons scored five points and had two rebounds against Xavier.

No. 11 Xavier will play top seed Gonzaga Saturday in San Jose, Calif. Gonzaga is coming off a 61-58 win over No. 4 West Virginia Thursday night.
