The Baltimore Ravens voted and chose tight end Benjamin Watson to receive the 2018 Ed Block Courage Award.

The annual award is presented to players who are role models of inspiration, sportsmanship and courage. The award was named after humanitarian and former Baltimore Colts trainer Ed Block and administered by the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation.

“It’s an honor to be selected by my teammates,” Watson said. “This award around the League is one that celebrates highest esteem because it’s voted on by the players and to win in Baltimore where Mr. Block was a trainer, humanitarian and just left the legacy left with the city as well as this organization, it’s special to be here in Baltimore and win the support.”

Watson, a 14-year veteran of the League and former Georgia Bulldog, is also the Ravens’ nominee for the 2018 Walter Payton Man of the Year award for his accomplishments on and off the field.
