FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons middle linebacker Paul Worrilow, who's battling a knee injury, was declared out of Sunday's game against Jacksonville by coach Dan Quinn on Friday.

Worrilow, who leads the team in tackles with 90, didn’t practice on Wednesday. He was limited on Thursday, but suffered a setback.

Also, center James Stone, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament, was placed on injured reserve and outside linebacker Tyler Starr was promoted to the 53-man roster.

Right guard Chris Chester (shoulder), returner Devin Hester (toe), defensive tackle Paul Soliai (calf), tight end Jacob Tamme (back) and cornerback Desmond Trufant (calf) were all listed as probable for the game.

Nate Stupar, who’s played in all 13 games and has made two starts, will replace Worrilow in the staring lineup. Also, Philip Wheeler will spend some time at middle linebacker.

“I’m excited for my opportunity,” Stupar said after practice on Friday. “I’ve been blessed with this team giving me the opportunity to play on defense. Early on I was at the (strongside) position and right now it’s at (middle). I also have to be ready at (weakside) because we are a little low.”

Jacksonville is expected to be without running back T.J. Yeldon. He’ll be replaced by Denard Robinson. The Jaguars average 99.3 yards rushing per game, which is tied for 17th in the league.

“Denard Robinson is a great athlete,” Stupar said. “They put him all over the field and he can make some big plays.”
