Falcons wide receiver Roddy White is going to tell the truth.

The Falcons may have reading their press clippings after getting out to a 5-0 start and setting the league afire by scoring touchdowns by the bushel.

The offense has been in a funk and is the main reason why they’ve now dropped four straight and five of their past six games.

“The guys are practicing hard and playing hard and we have energy,” White said. “None of that is a problem. It’s just our sense of urgency on the offensive side of the ball, I just don’t feel it.

“From being 5-0, I felt like we got a little complacent.”

The Falcons turned in another lethargic offensive effort in the 20-10 loss to the Vikings on Sunday at the Georgia Dome.

Matt Ryan’s 22-game streak of passing for more than 250 yards was snapped. The Falcons needed a cheap, late score to avoid going touchdown-less.

The Falcons have been trying to fix their offensive woes for awhile now. White, Julio Jones and Matt Ryan had an impromptu summit meeting after a shocking loss to San Francisco and spoke of wanting to run more tempo and attacking from the no-huddle.

After the bye week, nothing much changes as they are not running any tempo and only go to the no-huddle during traditional two-minute situations.

“We haven’t pushed our limit to where we need to, where I think we need to push it,” said White, who led the Falcons with six catches 60 yards.

White, the franchise’s all-time leader receiver, plans to step forward this week to get the offense rolling.

“It starts with the leaders on this team, and that’s me,” White said. “This week is going to be different. It’s going to be different in practice. We are going to have a sense of urgency so the next time we come out on the field on Sunday we will have a different result.”
