Here’s what Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper had to say on Wednesday’s conference call with the Atlanta media:
Q: How exciting was it to win on that two-point conversion in New Orleans?
A: "It was very exciting. We knew we'd go for two points. We knew we wanted to come out with the victory. We knew what the play was. I believed in (Michael) Crabtree and I knew he would make the catch."
Q: Were you pleased with the offense’s performance against the Saints?
A: "I wouldn't say this game came together really perfectly. It's really hard to have a perfect game on offense, defense or special teams. I would say that we did a lot of good things out there, but we have a lot to improve on. I'm excited about practicing and improving on those things."
Q: How do you approach the game when you have a player shadowing you?
A: "If I know that before hand, I'll just watch as much film as I can on him. If I don't know if someone is following me, I have to watch everybody in the whole coverage. If (Desmond Trufant0 is going to be following me, that means most likely they are going to be in a lot of man. So, I'll just study him and see what he's good at and what he's not good at."
Q: How would you describe the Raiders’ receiving corps?
A: "We have a really good group. We are all capable of making big plays. We all believe in each other. That's pretty much it. We have a good group of guys who are capable of making big plays.
Q: How would you describe Derek Carr? What are his best attributes?
A: "Derek Carr is a really phenomenal person. A really great player. Really great athlete. Really studious. Really wants to get the job done. He's a real team guy. He'll do anything for the team. I can go on and on about Derek. He's great."
Q: What has Julio Jones taught you about the game of football that has helped you so far in your career?
A: "He has given me a lot of advice over the years. Of course, I never played with him at Alabama because he's older. He comes back often and we talk sometimes. He gives me good advice."
Q: What kind of advice?
A: "For example, when he came back and watched me play when I was Alabama, when I'd come to the sidelines, he'd give me little tips about what I should do and things of that sort."
Q: Are you looking forward to seeing him and playing against his team?
A: "Yes. He's a great player. I was very excited to watch him at the Pro Bowl. We were on different teams and I was watching him."
Q: How did it make you all feel when coach Jack Del Rio told everyone that he was going for the win?
A: "I knew we would go for two before he even called it out. It was just the feel of how the game was going. The feel of how our team was. We came to win and there is nothing after that, but a period."
Q: How good can the Raiders be this season?
A: Well, me personally, I don't really hear the hype or the buzz. We are not really excited about any buzz or talk around here. We just want to come out on Sunday and play the best football that we can. We know that's all that matters."
Q: How is offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave integrated all of the weapons in the offense?
A: "He's a great offensive coordinator. He likes to get his play-makers the ball. He calls good plays and his studious as well."
