The first-place Falcons (6-3_ will be without their top cover cornerback, tight end and a key running back when they face the Philadelphia Eagles (4-4) at 1 p.m. Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.
Pro Bowl cornerback Desmond Trufant (shoulder/pectoral), tight end Jacob Tamme (shoulder) and running back Tevin Coleman (hamstring) were declared out by coach Dan Quinn on Friday.
Trufant suffered a shoulder/pectoral injury against the Buccaneers and didn’t practice all week although Quinn said his status was “day to day.”
Trufant was listed as the No. 1 left cornerback on the official injury report released by the team on Tuesday.
Trufant, 26, has not missed a game since the Falcons selected him in the first round of the 2013 draft out of the University of Washington. He’s their top cover man and was named to his first Pro Bowl team in 2015.
Jalen Collins, a second-round pick in 2015, replaced Trufant against Tampa Bay. He played 49 of 80 defensive snaps (61 percent) against the Bucs, He had two tackles and one pass breakup. C.J. Goodwin will also get some of the action at cornerback.
Tamme suffered a shoulder injury against the Packers on Oct. 30.
Tamme has 22 catches for 210 yards and three touchdowns. He was replaced in the starting lineup by Levine Toilolo against Tampa Bay on Nov. 3.
Toilolo has seven catches for 127 yards and two touchdowns.
Running back Tevin Coleman has missed the past two games with a hamstring injury. He’s been working out with the trainers and hasn’t returned to practice.
Defensive end Dwight Freeney (thigh) returned to practice Thursday after missing last week’s game at Tampa Bay. He will be available against the Eagles.
