Cornerback Jamar Taylor, a former second-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in 2013, was signed to mostly provide some depth at nickel back for the Falcons.

“They featured him during his Seattle time more at nickel,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said on Wednesday. “He had a role on (special) teams as well. He has experience both outside and inside as well. We’ll work him at both, but primarily we’ll feature him inside.”

In seven seasons in the NFL, Taylor, 29, has played in 87 NFL games and made 41 starts. Taylor played at Boise State. He also has played for Cleveland, Arizona, Denver and Seattle.
