Safety William Moore back at practice

Falcons safety William Moore, who had been out with a calf injury, returned to practice on Monday.

Moore did not play in the past two exhibition games. He could see some action when the Falcons host the Baltimore Ravens at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Georgia Dome.

Kemal Ishmael has started the past two games in Moore’s strong safety spot.

Also, linebacker Derek Akunne (foot) was back at practice while running back Antone Smith (hamstring) participated in portions of practice for the first time since suffering his injury in the exhibition season opener against Tennessee on Aug. 14.

Veteran linebacker Justin Durant (foot), linebacker Brooks Reed (groin) and wide receiver/returner Devin Hester (toe) did not have their helmets for practice.

Offensive tackle Tyler Polumbus, who was injured in the Miami game and returned to the action, was at practice. Tight end Tony Moeaki, who left the Miami game with an ankle injury, did not practice.

Cornerback Travis Howard (undisclosed), linebacker Joplo Bartu (quadriceps) and safety Robensen (quadriceps) Therezie did no practice and worked with the trainers.
