Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is already comfortable with rookie Jake Matthews playing left tackle.

“He’s one of the guys that you’re not really worried about because day-in and day-out he does his job and he does it real well,” Ryan said. “He knows his playbook. So, I think he’s going to do a great job for us at left tackle.”

Matthews, the sixth-pick overall in the NFL draft, played left tackle last season at Texas A&M. He has been unassuming since taking over for the injured Sam Baker on Monday.

“He doesn’t say much,” Ryan said. “He doesn’t act like a person who’s overly worried about that transition. From day one, he’s been rock solid at OTAs and throughout training camp.”
