A former Ole Miss defensive lineman from Gwinnett County came clean at the NFL scouting combine on Friday afternoon, with the exception of one glaring contradiction.
Robert Nkemdiche said he was "drunk" on the December night he fell from a fourth-floor hotel window in the Atlanta area, but claimed he was not in possession of — or under the influence of — marijuana before his fall.
Nkemdiche said others in his company brought the drugs, and he was forced into the role of scapegoat.
“There were more people in my room,” he said. “The hotel was under my name. Nobody wanted to take the fall, so it happened to be under my name.”
Shortly after the school confirmed that the former Grayson High School standout had been suspended for the Rebels’ Sugar Bowl date with Oklahoma State on Jan. 1, Nkemdiche announced he will withdraw from college and declare his eligibility for the next NFL draft.
