Saints quarterback Drew Brees may have finally caught the injury bug, according to multiple reports.

Brees, who hasn't missed a game due to injury since signing with New Orleans, seemed extra shaken up after taking a hit during Sunday's loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The quarterback's reliable deep ball didn't float the same way after the hit even though Brees said he did not at all consider leaving the game after being hit.

"That's the season. Everybody's dealing with something," Brees said to the Associated Press.

The quarterback underwent an MRI on his shoulder Monday and is seeking a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews, according to an NFL.com report.

Already 0-2, the Saints "are fearful that they may be without Drew Brees for some time," Ian Rapoport of NFL.com said.

When asked about Brees' injury Monday, Saints head coach Sean Payton said he is not ready to take Brees out of the lineup yet.

The Saints play the Carolina Panthers Sunday.
