Falcons coach Dan Quinn is not worried about defensive end Vic Beasley’s confidence after a lackluster performance in the season-opener against Tampa Bay.

“I don’t worry about the confidence over one game,” Quinn said. “With that said, I’m looking for his arrow to be going up in this game.”

Beasley played 39 snaps and didn’t have a tackle in the 31-24 loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday.

“He just didn’t perform the way he’s capable of,” Quinn said. “When those opportunities come up to go make a play can we just nail the technique just right?”

Beasley knows the franchise has high expectations for him.

“I have to affect the quarterback,” Beasley said. “I need to be disruptive on every play. Just be around the ball and make sure that I’m around the ball.”

Beasley, who was selected with the eighth overall pick in the 2015 draft, led the Falcons in sacks last season with four.

The Falcons are not ready to call Beasley a disappointment.

“It’s fair to say that I’d expect for him to have a really big impact for us this year,” Quinn said.

The Raiders didn’t allow a sack in their 35-34 win over the Saints last week.

“You definitely have to be cautious because (Derek) Carr can run pretty well,” Beasley said. “You don’t want to get too far up the field and have a run up the middle for a long run. You have to be cautious when you are going against a very skilled quarterback.”
