The Falcons held their final practice of training camp on Monday.
The players are free to leave the team facilities and return to their homes.
“Our aim was to throw the best camp that we’ve had yet and I believe that we’ve done that,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said on Monday. “We are a lot closer to the style of ball that we like to play. We still have a lot of work to get to that spot.”
The Falcons were hoping to establish an attacking mentality while in training camp.
“At the start of camp some of the objectives in terms of attacking and playing our best in situations at the end of halves and end of games,” Quinn said. “Every day, we worked toward that and I think we are a lot closer to that today than we were before. We still have a lot of work to do to nail our style and attitude of how we want (to play). We still have a lot of players that we still need to evaluate.”
Quinn likes the new cut-down rules which eliminated the cut-down from 90 players to 75 players before the final exhibition game. Now, teams can make just one cut, 9-man roster to 53-man roster.
“We are fortunate this year that roster is exempt from making a cut until later,” Quinn said. “We still have plenty of guys to get plenty of looks at.”
