New England tight end Rob Gronkowski was cleared from the league’s concussion protocol on Thursday.

Gronkowski was by quarterback Tom Brady’s side for much of the workout on Wednesday. He was listed as limited as he worked his way through the concussion protocol.

“We red-jerseyed him today so he’s working his way back,” New England coach Bill Belichick said.

On Thursday, Gronkowski spoke to the media for the first time this week.

“I’m super excited,” Gronkowski said. “I’m just happy to be back out there my boys...Everything is going good.”

Gronkowski suffered a concussion the AFC championship game against Jacksonville.

He said he didn’t have any limitations at practice.

“It’s going good,” Gronkowski said. “I was able to do everything. I was cleared.”

Gronkowski didn’t play in Super Bowl LI last season. He was out with a back injury.
