A few teams have already called about free agent safety William Moore, who was released by the Falcons on Monday.
Moore, who is working out twice a day, talked with general manager Thomas Dimitroff about the move.
Moore was very professional when discussing his release with Dimitroff. He actually thanked the team for drafting him and apologized for not helping them get to the Super Bowl.
“It’s tough when a team decides to go in another direction,” Moore’s agent Andy Ross said. “I got a few calls last night from teams checking in on him. We’ll take our time and look for the best opportunity for him.”
Moore actually suffered a broken collarbone in 2011, which was listed simply as a shoulder injury. When he returned from short-term injured reserve he played and made another tackle on the same shoulder.
Moore, who was drafted in the second-round (55th overall) of the 2009 draft. He went to the Pro Bowl in 2012 as an alternate.
Moore, who started 72 of 76 games over his career, played strong safety with a physical style that sometimes led to injury. He played all 16 games in just two seasons, 2010 and 2013.
