Koetter clarifies his Ryan-Grimes comments
BOCA RATON, Fla. — Falcons coach Dan Quinn caught Bucs coach Dirk Koetter's comments about Matt Ryan being "afraid" to throw at Brent Grimes in practice.
Koetter was the Falcons' offensive coordinator from 2012-2014. Here's what he said after the Bucs signed Grimes, a former Falcons' defensive back.
“I’m sure that was in jest,” Quinn said. “He was trying hype up the guy that was coming in.”
Koetter clarified his comments.
“I didn’t mean anything toward Matt on that,” Koetter said. “I was just trying to make a point about what a good player Brent is. You know how I feel about Matt.”
