Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones is a star in Las Vegas.
With his record-setting start to the season, he's now the subject of some interesting betting props on bovoda.lv.
Jones has helped the Falcons out to a 3-0 start by catching 34 passes for 440 yards and four touchdowns. Jones’ per-game averages have him on pace to break the NFL single-season records for receptions and yards.
From Bovoda.lv:
“The 6-foot-4, 220-pound star also plays in the NFC South division where he will have two games apiece against the suspect secondaries of the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Falcons also entered the season with the NFL’s 32nd-ranked strength of schedule – in other words, its easiest.
'In Week 4, the Falcons host the Houston Texans, whom Jones has not faced since his rookie year in 2011. There is a +250 moneyline (meaning a $100 bet, if successful, would yield a $250 profit) on the prop that Jones will total at least 135 yards in the Week 4 game. Conversely, a No prop is a -400 moneyline wager (meaning it would take a $400 bet to produce a $100 profit).
“Jones would need to average 8.5 receptions over the Falcons’ remaining 13 games to break former Indianapolis Colts star Marvin Harrison’s NFL mark of 143. There is a -500 moneyline for Jones not breaking the record and a +300 prop for him resetting the NFL standard.
“Jones is averaging 146.67 yards. The Detroit Lions’ Calvin Johnson averaged 122.75 in 2012 when he set the NFL record of 1,964. For what it is worth, Johnson averaged 123.0 during his first three games that season. Seven of the top 10 seasons in receiving yardage in NFL history are owned by players who, like Jones, played home games in a covered stadium.
"There is a +500 moneyline for Jones breaking Johnson's record. There is a -1000 moneyline for Megatron's mark remaining unscathed."
