Recently signed Shayne Graham will handle the field goal kicking duties when the Falcons play the Miami Dolphins at 8 p.m. Thursday in Orlando.

Kicker Matt Bryant has muscle tightness and will not play. Rookie Nick Rose, who missed three field goals in two exhibition games, was released on Saturday.

Graham, 38, played five games with the Falcons last season when Bryant was injured. He made 11 of 13 field goals, including 3 of 3 from behind 50 yards.

“Yesterday we had a good day, on the first day back he nailed them all,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. “We have a lot of faith in Shayne. With Matt not being all the way back healthy, it was the right decision at this time to bring in somebody that we know and trust and that’s who Shayne is.”
