FLOWERY BRANCH, GA – The Atlanta Falcons named wide receiver Brian Finneran the team’s nominee for the 2009 Walter Payton man of the year award on Thursday.

The award recognizes a player's off-the-field community service. Each team nominates a player and the winner will be selected by a panel and recognized on field before kickoff of Super Bowl XLIV in Miami, Florida.

Some of Finneran's community work includes serving of the board of the Breast Friends, Inc., which supports breast cancer awareness and purchasing 40 season tickets for the local military and the Eagle Ranch Children’s home located in Flowery Branch as part of the Atlanta Falcons Extra Yard partnership program.
