The Falcons had contingent of 10 personnel men and scouts on hand for Georgia Tech’s Pro Day on Friday.

The group was led by coach Dan Quinn, general manager Thomas Dimitroff, assistant general manager Scott Pioli and defensive line coach Bryan Cox.

The Falcons sent 18 representatives to Georgia’s Pro Day on Wednesday.

“Georgia Tech has such a solid program, and with coach (Paul) Johnson and the way that he runs things, you would only expect that it would be run very well and accommodating,” Dimitroff said. “We got an opportunity to see some guys that were considered more down the draft status list. They can step up and show their ability here, and that’s a good thing.”

Defensive tackle Adam Gotsis and cornerback D.J. White were the only Yellow Jackets invited to the NFL scouting combine. However, cornerback Chris Milton flashed some high-end NFL speed in the 40-yard dash when he ran a 4.31.

“We have an opportunity to see people in their home surroundings,” Dimitroff said. “I thought it was a good showing today.”

The Falcons seemed to be placing a strong emphasis on the in-state programs this offseason.

“There’s always something here,” Dimitroff said. “I tell our scouting staff all the time, both Georgia Tech and UGA are places to go and sift through the talent whether if it’s for draft consideration or if it’s for (college free agents), you’re going to find some of the best athletes in the country are playing at these two schools.”
