Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s retractable roof will be open for the Falcons’ first home game of the season Sunday night, the team said Friday.

That is “subject to change based on game-day weather conditions,” the Falcons said in announcing the plan.

The 8:20 p.m. game against the Philadelphia Eagles will be nationally televised on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.”

The roof was open for four of the Falcons' eight regular-season home games last year, although it was closed for all three September home games. The roof was open for only one game in 2017, the stadium's inaugural season, because work on the complicated eight-panel structure hadn't been completed at that time.
