The Falcons claimed wide receiver Taylor Gabriel off waivers, according to the league transactions list.

The Falcons released wide receiver Nick Williams to make room for Gabriel, who was released by the Cleveland Browns.

The Falcons also added seven players to the practice squad, including wide reciver J.D. McKissic.

In addition to McKissic, the Falcons signed defensive end Nordly Capi, cornerback Devonte Johnson, nose tackle Joey Mbu, safety Sharrod Neasman, quarterback Matt Simms and tight end D.J. Tialavea to the practice squad.

Gabriel, 25, play in college at Abilene Christian, where he finished his career second in school history with 215 receptions for 3,027 yards and 27 touchdowns.

Gabriel, 5-foot-8 and 185 pounds, has run the 40-yard dash is sub 4.3 seconds.

The Falcons have three other spots to fill on the practice squad.
