Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff has not made a decision on releasing or retaining wide receiver Roddy White, the franchise’s all-time leading receiver who had a dramatic statistical drop off last season.
White, who was drafted in the first round of the 2005 draft, had averaged 88.2 catches per season. White, 34, who has two years remaining on his contract, caught just 43 passes last season. He is set to receive a base salary of $3 million
The Falcons are scouting the wide receiver class for this draft heavily. They interviewed Ohio State wide receiver Braxton Miller at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.
The team is also keeping an eye toward free agency.
“Free agency moves, I think we’ve become more and more dialed in, especially with Dan (Quinn) to know what type of players that we are looking for (that fit) our scheme,” Dimitroff said.
