The big game is less than a day away. The Falcons have a chance to achieve what they have only done once in 51 years - win the NFC championship game and reach the Super Bowl.

Get ready for the game by spending some time with the AJC’s complete coverage:

The man who led the Falcons to the Super Bowl

Dan Reeves is the only coach to take the Falcons to football’s grandest stage, playing Denver in January 1999 in Super Bowl XXXIII in Miami.

Reeves was the architect of the biggest upset in Falcons history when they beat a 16-1 Minnesota team in the NFC Championship game in the Metrodome.

Some 18 years after that incredible win — and only three days after his 73rd birthday — Reeves reflected on the 1998 roller-coaster season that included quadruple bypass heart surgery, a return to the sidelines less than a month later and a disastrous Super Bowl eve when he found out only 20 hours before kickoff that his starting safety and team captain had landed in jail. Click here to read Reeves' words.

Mark Bradley: Falcons’ game is huge for the city too

Even if we concede it's just a game, it's nonetheless a mighty big game. Big for the Falcons, in business since 1966 and never a champion, and big for our city, which has seen more major sports teams – both were hockey clubs – exit for Canada than stage ultimate-victory parades. Click here to read more.

Jeff Schultz: Ryan has already proved himself

All this talk about legacy seems silly. Matt Ryan is 31 years old. He's a quarterback in his ninth NFL season, possibly the midway point of his career. The adjustments he has made in a scheme many believed was not best for his skill set, the improvements he has made in his game and his continued growth in leadership and toughness puts him in the top tier of quarterbacks. Click here to read more.

'Spirit of brotherhood' carries Falcons

From the Falcons front office to the coaches' warren to the locker room all the way to the equipment room, everyone is engaged in one communal Bro-mance. Coach Dan Quinn says the fans are a part of it too. Click here to read more.

Unique insight to both QBs

Jeff Jagodzinski could win "To Tell the Truth" with this little nugget about Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who will square off in Sunday's NFC Championship game with a place in the Super Bowl on the line. "I'm the only guy in the coaching profession that's had both guys," he said.
