FLOWERY BRANCH — Falcons starting right guard Chris Chester, who suffered a shoulder injury on the final drive against Minnesota, did not practice on Wednesday.
“Chris Chester is not going to participate today,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. “There will be a couple of guys (taking his snaps). Bryce Harris will work some inside. All of the typical guys, (Ben) Garland and (James) Stone.”
If Chester can’t play against Tampa Bay, that would be a huge loss for the Falcons’ offensive line. Tampa Bay’s defense is anchored by All-Pro defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, who normally line up over Chester.
Falcons linebacker Justin Durant (ankle) was set to return to practice in a limited capacity. Wide receiver Leonard Hankerson (hamstring) was not scheduled to practice, but was set for a rehab run.
“”Matt Bryant, will maybe participate some Friday, but not today,” Quinn said. “He kicks on Wednesdays and Fridays. He’ll be apart of the rehab today. Then we’ll take in through Friday and will have a better gauge Friday night.”
