Falcons punter Matt Bosher lowered the boom on Panthers returner Kenyon Barner after a 33-yard return in the second quarter of Sunday’s game.

“I thought it was pretty cool,” wide reciever Mohamed Sanu Said. “I jumped out of my seat. I was looking at the tablet and I saw it and was like oh. I had to go congratulate him – it was a big hit.”

Defensive tackle Jack Crawford was also impressed.

“That honestly set the tone for the rest of the game,” Crawford said. “That was a decent return, but when he leveled that guy, man. We are probably going to watch that in the defensive room because he stopped that guy on a dime.”

Falcons coach Dan Quinn was not surprised as Bosher has 28 career tackles.

“I think it brought a lot of energy to the sideline,” Quinn said. “All of his teammates know how tough he is, but when the hit happened (Sunday) it was clearly one that got everyone excited.

“Sometimes you catch them just right. That’s what it takes sometimes, but everybody knows how tough he is. To see that kind of hit today, I’m sure he’ll have a highlight for himself for years to come.”
