600,000 local homes watch Falcons’ opener

About one in four metro Atlanta households watched the Falcons’ season opener Monday night.

The Falcons’ victory over the Eagles on ESPN and WSB-TV drew a combined 25.7 Nielsen rating in the Atlanta television market, meaning 25.7 percent of the homes with TVs tuned in on average. That equals an audience of about 600,000 local homes.

The “Monday Night Football” game delivered a 9.9 rating locally on ESPN and a 15.8 rating for the simulcast on WSB.
