This offseason, one the Atlanta Falcons' focuses is on revamping their offensive line. In order to do that, Pro Football Focus suggests the Falcons fix their weakness at right guard, which has been a problem for the last couple seasons.
The right guard combination of of Wes Schweitzer and Ben Garland surrendered 46 total pressures in the regular season, which would have led the league if they were a single player. This comes one season after Chris Chester led the league with 45 pressures given up.
Pro Football Focus writer Sam Monson believes drafting a guard in a solid offensive line draft is the route the Falcons should take. He advises the Falcons to take Georgia guard Isaiah Wynn with the 26th overall pick.
“Despite being relatively undersized for a tackle, he allowed just five total pressures all season and only 26 for his college career,” Monson wrote. “He showed well at the Senior Bowl and would plug up the hole on that offensive line.”
