Boston College’s flight arrived in Atlanta Tuesday, meaning the chances of Georgia Tech’s Wednesday night game against the Eagles taking place have increased considerably.

ACC rules regarding the postponement or cancellation of games dictate that as long as both teams and game officials can reach the arena safely, the game will be played. The conference now only has to ensure that officials can make it to McCamish Pavilion Wednesday, which would seem a much smaller logistical challenge than getting Boston College into Atlanta. The team moved up its flight to 9:45 a.m. this morning to avoid the possibility of being stuck in Boston. Hundreds of flights in and out of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport have been cancelled due to the weather, including Delta Air Lines’ final four flights Tuesday to Atlanta out of Boston, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Tech played North Carolina Jan. 29 in the midst of the state-wide emergency caused by the weather because of the ACC policy, as both the Tar Heels and game officials were able to reach the arena. The school encouraged those beyond walking distance to stay home, but an announced crowd of 5,124 still made it to McCamish.
