The Atlanta Dream traded a 2018 second-round pick for former Connecticut Sun forward Jordan Hooper on Thursday.

The 13th overall pick in the 2014 WNBA Draft out of Nebraska, Hooper played for the Dallas Wings last season playing an average of 9.1 minutes per game and averaging 3.7 points and 1.2 rebounds.

The Atlanta Dream’s next game is against the Sun at 7 p.m. Saturday at Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Arena.

“The trade for Hooper will provide us another three-point shooter that we can really use,” Dream coach Michael Cooper said. “She is a seasoned player, who has been in this league a couple of years. Hooper will not only make our team better on the floor but she will make an impact in the Atlanta community.”

Hooper joins the Dream in the midst of forward Sancho Lyttle’s temporary suspension.
