Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi –– the all-time leading scorer –– became the first WNBA player to reach 8,000 career points Tuesday.

Taurasi entered Tuesday’s game against the New York Liberty three points shy of the 8,000 mark. She reached the career milestone on a free throw in the first quarter.
