Retired NFL linebacker DeMarcus Ware listed former Atlanta Falcons quarterback as one of the toughest players he faced in his career.

Ware, who most recently played with the Denver Broncos, wrote about the five toughest players he faced during his 12 years in the NFL in The Players' Tribune on Tuesday.

Ware first faced Vick in 2006 when Ware played for the Dallas Cowboys. During his first face off with Vick, Ware recounts the Falcons quarterback dropped back to pass and eventually scrambled right in front of Ware. Ware dove to catch Vick, but landed on the ground empty-handed.

Vick was still sprinting down the field.

"People always ask me if Michael Vick still had it when he was in Philly — if he was still as fast as he was when he was in Atlanta," Ware wrote. "And the answer is yes. Atlanta, Philly, New York, Pittsburgh... it didn't matter where he was. He was always fast.

“One thing coaches always say to pass rushers is, ‘You gotta chase the rabbit.’ Well, Michael Vick was the fastest damn rabbit I ever chased.”

Also on Ware’s list of the five toughest players he faced during his career are running back Adrian Peterson, offensive tackle Walter Jones and future Hall of Fame quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
