What is Nick Saban's future as Alabama's head coach?
Your guess is as good as any.
Rumors of Saban's departure to Texas have been rampant since his agent, Jimmy Sexton, made the statement earlier this year that the only job Saban would consider leaving the Crimson Tide for was the Longhorns gig.
Mack Brown, however, remains Texas' head coach ... for now. There is wide speculation the long-tenured Longhorns leader will coach his final game this weekend against Baylor.
And if you believe Fansided, Saban to Texas is a sure thing. Though it warns: "There is a chance that this rumor never comes to fruition."
College football's best-paid coach is a popular choice. The Los Angeles Times reported that Southern Cal contacted Sexton to gauge Saban's interest before hiring Steve Sarkisian.
Fanning the rumor of Saban's imminent departure is the loss to Auburn, fading Alabama's BCS title hopes. (As a side note, time's running out on getting your favorite Auburn fan a T-shirt commemorating the Iron Bowl win.)
Greater still is the assumption that Saban will lose offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier - a rumored finalist for the Washington vacancy created when USC hired Sarkisian - tempting him to start anew in the Big XII.
What we do know is that the Tide's senior class includes some mainstays, including quarterback A.J. McCarron, and Saban's out been recruiting.
So make any of this what you will.
