Georgia and Georgia Tech will play their annual basketball game during schools’ holiday break this year.

That’s according to a draft of the game contract, signed by Georgia Athletic Director Greg McGarity and submitted to Tech last Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets have yet to sign off on it but, assuming they will, Tech will visit Stegeman Coliseum on Dec. 19 this year. The tip-off time is still undetermined.

The Bulldogs can only hope that playing closer to Christmas will work in their favor. Tech beat them 80-73 when they met in the season opener in Atlanta this past season and the Jackets have won the last four in the series, all played before Dec. 7.
