Kennesaw State quarterback Trey White will miss Saturday’s game at No. 4 Coastal Carolina because of a shoulder injury sustained in last week’s loss to Charleston Southern.

Jake McKenzie, who played after White left the game, will start at quarterback.

White has passed for 1,022 yards and rushed for 809 this season.

McKenzie has split time between quarterback and fullback, rushing 58 times for 259 yards and four touchdowns. He is 16-of-23 passing for 229 yards and a touchdown.

“Never an ideal time to lose your starting quarterback,” coach Brian Bohannon said. “But this is part of the process. Jake is a good player. He’s been able to play a good bit this year.”

Jonah Huff will back up Trey Chivers at fullback.
