Georgia Tech will play a four-game men’s basketball series with Tennessee beginning in November at McCamish Pavilion. The Yellow Jackets will play in Knoxville in the 2016-17 and 2018-19 seasons with one more game at McCamish in 2017-18.

This season, the Yellow Jackets and Volunteers will play Nov. 16, a Monday, after the opening weekend of the season. In a statement, coach Brian Gregory called the game with the Volunteers the anchor of the Jackets’ home non-conference schedule. Tech also will play Georgia in Athens Dec. 19, a Saturday, and will play in the Las Vegas Classic in December.

The Jackets will open the season against Cornell at home Nov. 13, a Friday.

Tech and Tennessee have played each other 69 times, mostly when the two were both members of the SEC. The Volunteers lead the series 42-27. They last met in Feb. 2004, a Tech win in Knoxville in the Jackets’ second Final Four season.

Tech and Tennessee are also expected to be paired up on the football field in the 2017 Chick-fil-A Kickoff game.
