Georgia Tech’s previously reported appearance in the NIT Season Tip-Off was made official Thursday with the event’s announcement. The Yellow Jackets will play in the four-team Thanksgiving weekend event along with Arkansas, Stanford and Villanova at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Tech will play the Razorbacks on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 26) at 2 p.m., to be broadcast on ESPNU. The winner of that game and Villanova-Stanford will play at 3 p.m. the following day at 3 p.m. (ESPN2). The losers will play at 12:30 p.m. the same day (ESPNU).

As part of the tip-off, Tech will also play two home games the previous week, against Green Bay Nov. 19 (Thursday) and East Tennessee State Nov. 22 (Sunday). Tech has played in previous versions of the NIT event four times, winning the Preseason NIT in 2003 in Madison Square Garden.

It will be Tech’s second trip to the Barclays Center, following the Jackets’ participation in a four-team Thanksgiving tournament there in 2013.

Tech last played Arkansas in 1984. The Razorbacks made the NCAA tournament this past season for the first time since 2008. The Jackets are in the Bahamas this week for a seven-day stay that will include three games against local competition.
