The Georgia Lady Bulldogs battled their way from a first-half deficit to the Yellow Jackets on Sunday afternoon, only to come up short and earn their first loss of the season 52-45.

The Lady Bulldogs (3-1) trailed by as much as nine in the first half, but forward Cailya Robinson’s 13 points and six assists in the first half helped lessen the Jackets’ lead to five at the end of the first half. Robinson came off the bench for Georgia halfway through the first period and ended the game as Georgia’s leading scorer, shooting 7-of-13 from the field and 1-of-3 from beyond the arc. Robinson also shot 6-of-7 free throws.

The Lady Bulldogs struggled with turnovers in the first half, allowing the Jackets 11 points off six first quarter turnovers. The Jackets had 15 total points in the first period. Georgia finished with 27 turnovers.

Robinson and starting forward Halle Washington finished Sunday’s game with four fouls apiece. Guard Haley Clark fouled out in the fourth period.
